Asian teams have begun arriving in Kuwait for partaking in the qualifying matches for the World Cup 2022 and Asia Cup 2023 due in China. The teams have arrived to play in the second group matches, due to be hosted by Kuwait on June 3-15.

First to arrive was the Chinese Taipei national football team. It is the fifth in the group with no points. It will play against Nepal, which ranks fourth with four points on Thursday.
The teams and their coaches will observe anti-covid precautions during their presence in the country.

The second group also includes the host, Kuwait, with 10 points, Austria, with 12 points, and Jordan, with 10 points.
