The Teachers’ Association has called on the Ministry of Education to extend the mid-year vacation until the end of February, due to the high rates of infection with the Coronavirus, to ensure the safety of our students and educational families.

This came in a letter addressed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Teachers’ Association, Hamad Al-Houli, to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Ali Al-Yacoub, reports Al-Anba daily.

The letter, a copy of which has been obtained by the daily, said “At the outset, we appreciate your honorable person in strengthening the areas of cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Education and the Kuwaiti Teachers Association, through which we jointly contribute to the development of the educational process and the improvement of its outputs.”

The letter added, “We propose the extension of the mid-school year vacation until the end of February 2022, given the indications of high rates of infection with the new Coronavirus and to ensure the safety of our students and educational families during the peak period of the virus.”

The letter said this will also help the concerned officials to prepare for the second semester and all special procedures. Thus, we hope our proposal will be studied in order to contribute together to the continuation of the permanent cooperation between us to develop the educational process.”
