The President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Dr. Tsai Ing-wen conveyed her heartfelt condolences to His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the passing of His Highness Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on September 29, 2020.
In her letter to the Amir Sheikh Nawaf, dated September 30, 2020, President Tsai addressed that the world has lost a giant among leaders. Sheikh Sabah was known as the wise man of the region, who led the State of Kuwait during a time of change and challenges.
President Tsai Ing-wen also extends her sincere congratulations on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of China (Taiwan), to His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as the 16th Amir of the State of Kuwait. Wishing Kuwait continued success and prosperity, and His Highness Amir be healthy and mighty.
In her congratulatory letter, President Tsai wishes that through the continuous joint effort, the bilateral economic relations, the mutual understanding and friendship between Taiwan and the State of Kuwait will be further strengthened in the years to come.
