Arab nations has lost one of the greatest men in the Gulf, the late Amir of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who worked with all his strength to reconcile Arab countries and the Gulf, whose positions won’t be forgotten, Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said Tuesday.

Arab nations also lost another great man, late Sultan of Oman, Qaboos bin Said, Sheikh Tamim added in remarks at the opening session of the 49th Qatari Shura Council, expressing hope that the GCC countries to be inspired by their moderation and wisdom for the future of relations between the countries.

Sheikh Tamim also referred to his country’s efforts to achieve the goals of its national vision, especially with regard to achieving food security and encouraging investment by issuing a series of legislation that stimulates investment and improving the business environment, especially the law regulating the partnership between the public and private sectors.

Qatar has surpassed the developmental obstacles and challenges it has gone through in the past few years, he said. He also called for reducing the dependence on oil and gas revenues due to the instabilities in their prices and low ceilings over time. He also called to enhance economic diversity and increase labor productivity and in the public sector and encourage the private sector to invest.
