A huge swarm of bees attacked a passenger plane and settled near one of its engines, which led to the cancellation of a flight minutes before it took off from Rio de Janeiro to its destination in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
A video footage circulated by the media showed that the Latam Latin American Airlines plane was parked on the runway at Rio de Janeiro airport, as it was preparing to take off at 10:30 am, while a large number of bees attacked its outer surface and settled in groups on its left wing near one of its engines, reports Al-Rai daily.
As a result, the safety department at the airport suspended the flight for several hours, in an attempt to move the bees away from the plane, but finally decided to cancel the flight after one o’clock in the afternoon, after it found that the swarm of bees had not moved all these hours from the wing of the plane.
