Companies caught committing violations of human trafficking laws will have their crimes clearly underlined in their files, under the directions of the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), who decided to replace the vague symbolic numbers used before to hide the types of violations and crimes committed by these companies, Al-seyassah reported. The prior system also provided the companies with a kind of legal cover to, in some cases, continue the violations.

The daily said, quoting informed sources that more than 10,000 suspended companies are under review by PAM to erase the old codes, and replace them with newer codes that clearly and explicitly mention the violations committed by these companies, which consequently caused their files to be suspended.

Among the complaints that will be noted, are involved in visa trading, in addition to violations of workers’ rights, non-payment of salaries, the company’s existing on paper only, and many others.

The sources revealed to the daily that firm decisions will be taken starting the next year regarding employment issues, with special focus on suspended company files, and a deadline will be set for the employer of a suspended company file to verify with the General Investment Authority to correct the company’s violations, and if he fails to respond accordingly, all workers registered under the company will be deported immediately without any warning.

The sources added that some employers do not care if their file is suspended as long as the company is working or rather continuing to work, but this allowance will completely change in the coming period, and any expat employee caught with persistent violations will be permanently deported after the deadline granted to the employer since the PAM visit ends.
The sources indicated that a cooperation mechanism had been set up between PAM and the Ministry of Interior underscoring tougher penalties for the owners of violating companies and non-compliance with statutory decisions.
