The Ministry of Interior coordinates with the Ministry of Health to monitor the data of people who are not qualified to obtain ‘driving’ and ‘weapon’ licenses and even withdrawing them from those who already hold them.
An informed source told the daily, that meetings will be held between the two sides to create an ‘automatic’ link between the ministries of Interior and Health represented by the Kuwait Center for Mental Health and the Addiction Center to monitor the data of applicants who are not qualified to obtain driver’s licenses and weapons.
The source indicated that this step aims to maintain security in the country by not granting weapons licenses to people with serious and severe mental illnesses and drug addicts, as well as the safety of life on the roads and reducing the number of accidents by not granting them driving licenses.
The source indicated that this issue is still under study and the meetings between the two sides are expected to introduce a clear mechanism.
