In the first seizure made by the State Security to combat the phenomenon of vote-buying a squad formed by the State Security Investigations authority headed by Lieutenant-General Salem Al-Nawaf, who is also head of the apparatus, two delegates representing a candidate in the first constituency have been arrested.

A local Arabic daily has learned from its sources that also arrested are 6 voters — five women and one man — for allegedly selling. All the arrested are from the Dasma district. According to the sources they are being investigated and referred to the Public Prosecution.

The sources confirmed that the seizure of vote-buying was documented by audio and video clips, and the purchase was made through bank links.

The State Security is coordinating with the Public Prosecution Office to complete investigations and refer the accused to the prosecution.
