The head of the Union of Engineering Offices and Consulting Houses, Badr Al-Salman, has appealed to the concerned authorities in the country to accelerate the completion of government and private projects of a special nature.

This is because these projects are affected due to the documentary cycle for approval, which affects both their development and investment returns, while at the same time appreciating the efforts of the Director General of the Kuwait Municipality Ahmed Al-Manfouhi, to form a special committee for each distinguished project of a special nature, to help complete the required licenses and certificates electronically, within a short period, reports a local Arabic daily.

Al-Salman explained that the nature of these distinguished projects, including infrastructure projects, power plants, oil sector projects, housing city centers, hospitals, and commercial and entertainment projects, necessitates the speedy issuance of licenses because they will benefit the public and motivate the foreign investor to enter the Kuwait market.

He pointed out that the municipality has formed a special committee from all the departments for each project according to its nature, to study and issue approvals and licenses within a standard period of time.

He said that this achievement by the Director of the Municipality, and the support of Minister Abdulaziz Al-Mojil, and their technical staff, contributes greatly to shortening the documentary cycle, and relying mainly on issuing licenses electronically, through the automated system linked to engineering offices and consulting houses, and without the intervention of the human element as much as possible to achieve transparency and combat corruption.
