Innospace, a South Korean space company, stated that the experimental suborbital launch vehicle Hanbit-TLV made a successful flight, marking the launch of the country’s first civilian-made space rocket.

The single-stage hybrid rocket, weighing 8.4 tons, was launched from the Alcantara Space Center in northern Brazil at 02:52 p.m. Sunday (local time), the company quoted as said by Yonhap News Agency.

According to Al-Rai, the missile flew for 4 minutes and 33 seconds before falling into Brazilian waters. Innospace has tried to launch the rocket since December last year, but it has been postponed several times due to weather conditions and technical errors.

It is noteworthy that this missile is the first launch vehicle for civil small satellites in South Korea.
