Head of the Kuwaiti Federation of Owners of Domestic Labor Offices Khaled Al-Dakhnan

The head of the Kuwaiti Federation of Owners of Domestic Labor Offices Khaled Al-Dakhnan warned against some Asian run sub labor offices that these offices incite Domestic workers to flee from the sponsor to work on the hourly system, which is more profitable for the worker and the office, but it is done illegally, Al-Rai daily reported.

Al-Dakhnan confirmed in a statement to the daily that the first and last victim of the domestic worker’s escape is the sponsor, expressing his regret for the many cases in which domestic workers escape without paying the penalty.

He added that the sponsor is financially and morally damaged and his rights are violated, after a long wait that may reach five months, and after one week of the domestic worker’s work, he may find her escaped, and if she is arrested after two years or more, she is stamped and deported without severe punishment,

He pointed out that in addition to the sub-rented official offices, there are unofficial and unlicensed offices that also carry out the same activity that harms Kuwait’s international reputation, stressing the need to confront these behaviors that take place outside the law.
