The Coast Guard General Department foiled an attempt to smuggle by sea at least 49 kilos of hashish by unidentified soldiers, reported an Arab daily paper. The Maritime Security Department received information about a quantity of prohibited materials lying at the bottom of the sea which was coming from one of the neighboring countries.

The source also added that the cruiser carrying two people on board, was seized, and was discovered to be manned by soldiers. The suspects were arrested and a GPS tracking device was found in their possession, which was set up to locate the route of the contraband, along with illegal drugs. The suspects will be referred to competent authorities.
