In the face of the decision taken by the Council of Ministers to temporarily stop holding all kinds of social events held in closed places, from next Sunday, corresponding to Jan 9 until February 28, in light of the noticeable increase in the number of daily Omicron infections, well-informed sources in the Ministry of Social Affairs said it will make full refund of money paid by people for booking wedding halls and insurance money, if they wish to cancel their reservations permanently.

The sources told Al-Jarida this is not the first time that the Ministry has refunded the reservation fees saying it had refunded money to about 318 people when they cancelled their bookings when the Covid-19 pandemic first broke out.

The sources pointed out Social Affairs is also awaiting a Cabinet decision to stop all automatic reservations through the ‘Events House’ app temporarily and until after Feb 28 provided the epidemiological situation improves and the government opens the door for social events.
