Some people tend to believe that the forgery of patients documents is a simple administrative violation, but according to 80 percent of court verdicts these offences are considered serious offense and those convicted can face imprisonment and/or monetary fines.

This is in contrast to the mistaken belief that the offense does not carry imprisonment behind bars.

Those found guilty are treated as forgers of official documents, which carries a sentence of up to seven years in prison.

In the latest cases the Criminal Court has sentenced two female employees to 5 years in prison for falsifying patients records in exchange money.

An informed source told Al-Qabas these strict provisions should deter anyone who tempts himself to falsify any official document.
