The Al-Ujairi Scientific Center revealed 5 astronomical phenomena are taking place this month and can be seen and enjoyed in the skies of Kuwait.
The center said in a press statement that since the first of this month, the sky of Kuwait witnessed the full moon, and it was clearly seen with the naked eye, as it was then at the closest point to the earth, the event that is called ‘perihelion’, reports Al-Rai daily.
The center added on August 10, the planet Mercury will appear at its farthest distance from the sun in the evening, and this will be followed between August 12 and 13 by showers of meteors known as the “Pershawis”, which are the most active this year and can be seen at night in the sky of Kuwait.
The center pointed out on August 27, the ringed planet Saturn will appear on the other side of the earth to the sun, and it can be seen from sunset to sunrise; and at the end of August the second full moon ‘the blue moon’ will illuminate the sky of Kuwait which means the people of the earth will witness two full moons in one month of the common calendar.
