After 60 years of independence and 30 years of liberation, Kuwaiti women played a role in achieving peace and development

Sheikha Intisar Salem Al-Ali, a Kuwaiti social entrepreneur, philanthropist, author, film producer, columnist and a princess of the House of Al Sabah, the ruling family of Kuwait,  released a statement on the occasion of Kuwait’s 60 years of independence and 30 years of liberation.

The statement read, “This year marks the passage of 60 years since Kuwait’s independence and 30 years since the country’s liberation. On this happy occasion of my country, I extend my warmest congratulations to the shrine of His Highness Prince Sheikh Nawwaf Al-Ahmad and His Highness Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad and to all the sons of my country and all Whoever lives on this good land, wishing prosperity and stability to Kuwait and its people.”

She added: After the passage of 60 years of independence, Kuwait has been able to assume a prominent position among the countries of the world, due to its credibility and its endeavour to achieve peace in the world and the region. This is what its good efforts in reaching Gulf reconciliation and Gulf reunification once again and ending the dispute between brothers as well as its permanent endeavors to provide aid to needy and affected countries. This was also evident in the humanitarian aid provided by Kuwait and charitable organizations during the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, and the country did not give up providing assistance to sister countries and its neighbours.”

She explained that Kuwait, since its independence, has spared no effort to achieve peace in the region and the world and expressed concern for people without having a hidden agenda.

Highlighting that the celebration of the 30th anniversary of liberation also embodies the sacrifices of the Kuwaiti people and their cohesion at that time in order to regain their land and freedom, she expressed appreciation for the role that the coalition countries played to liberate Kuwait from the clutches of the brutal occupation.

She noted: After the liberation, Kuwait witnessed a new phase of growth and development that was called human concern. Praising the role of Kuwaiti women for the sacrifices they made and their contributions to achieving societal peace, she emphasized that Kuwaiti women have provided the most precious support to their country for it to remain the beacon of the region.

She mentioned that this year Kuwait celebrates its national holidays in light of the difficult conditions the world is going through as a result of the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic, which led to the cancellation of celebrations and marches. However, Sheikha Intisar Salem Al-Ali praises the measures taken by Kuwait to confront the coronavirus epidemic with all firmness, strength and will, confirming that Kuwait and the world will prevail over this epidemic. She said it was thanks to the efforts made by everyone and adherence to the instructions issued by the health authorities in the country.

She concluded her speech by saying: “We hope that this pandemic will disappear as soon as possible, that peace will prevail in the world, that wars will end, and stability will reign in the region.”
