The Capital Committee in the Municipal Council approved the request of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers regarding finding an alternative location for the East Industrial Park plots, Al-Rai reported.

Committee Chairman Abdulaziz Al-Moajil told the daily that there was a previous decision issued by the Services Committee in the Council of Ministers in 2019 regarding this matter, and accordingly, two new sites were chosen, the first in the first area in Shuwaikh on an area of 41,000 square meters, and the second in a slaughterhouse. The old municipality covers an area of more than 46,000 square meters, bringing the total area of the two sites to approximately 87,000 square meters.

He pointed out that the current location of the industrial area will turn in the future into a commercial investment use, but no plan has been submitted about it by the interested parties, whether the government or private sectors.
