Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi has initiated an inquiry into several doctors, temporarily suspending them from their duties pending the investigation.

This action was taken due to their reluctance to return funds they had been advanced for surgical procedures, which were subsequently declined by the patients, reports Al-Rai daily.

The sources clarified that the minister’s decision was prompted by patient complaints that were substantiated upon investigation. They emphasized the necessity for doctors to reimburse the money they had accepted to facilitate the process of scheduling a surgical appointment.

It was emphasized that this behavior contradicts professional ethics and disregards the patients’ wishes, leading the minister to enforce disciplinary actions against these doctors.
