Kuwait Ministry of Health said on Tuesday that seven persons died of coronavirus in the past 24 hours while 1,544 people tested positive for Covid-19.

Ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said total deaths rose to 1,419 and registered infections surged to 250,273. He added that 1,201 people recovered from the virus since yesterday to reach a total of 233,757. He said the recovery-to-infection ratio was 93.4 percent. Al-Sanad said 235 Covid-19 patients were in the intensive care units, while the total patients receiving health care was 15,097.

Health care workers conducted 9,232 swab tests in the past 24 hours to reach a total of 2,178,297 tests since the pandemic broke out in Kuwait, said Al-Sanad who added that the infections-to-swab ratio was 16.7 percent. He called on the public anew to abide by health regulations including physical distancing and avoiding crowded areas.
