In accordance with the directives of Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who has emphasized the need for coordinated efforts between government agencies and the Ministry of Interior to recover outstanding dues from foreigners prior to their departure from the country, the Ministry of Interior has announced the commencement of the implementation of this debt collection measure which went into effect on Friday, September 1, 2023.

The Ministry further specified that any foreign national wishing to exit the country, regardless of the reason for their departure, is obligated to settle any outstanding electricity and water bills, reports Al-Jarida daily.

This can be accomplished through electronic payment options available on the Ministry of Electricity and Water application or the “Sahel” application.

Alternatively, individuals may choose to settle their dues by visiting the designated offices situated at land and sea ports, as well as the Kuwait International Airport.

The Ministry of Interior has urged all individuals to comply with the established legal provisions and avoid any violations. They emphasized that they are committed to upholding their duty to maintain security and public order within the country.
