With the issuance of the decree to form the Civil Service Council, headed by His Highness the Prime Minister or whoever he delegates from among the ministers, governmental sources said the Service Council, during its upcoming meeting, will discuss the most prominent controls and standards that have been established when appointing officers in senior and supervisory positions in government institutions before issuing an ‘appointment’ decree.
In a related context, Al-Rai learned well-informed sources in the Civil Service Commission said that “so far, the CSC has not received nominations from ministers to appoint personnel in senior positions in their respective ministries.” However, the ministers are expected to submit the names from this week.
The sources pointed many senior positions are still vacant in government institutions and they will be filled “In accordance with the decisions regulating the process, the candidates who will be selected by the Civil Service Council to take over the positions subject to training courses followed by written tests, and whoever passes crosses the hurdle will have his name referred to the Council of Ministers for an appointment.
