After coronavirus infection rates showed an improvement, the cabinet is planning on Thursday to announce the shift to the second stage within the return to normal life plan, reported a local daily. This comes after the first stage was extended by a week as the numbers had not improved.

The second stage will start from Sunday, and entails a partial curfew from 9 pm to 5 am, and allowing government institutions and ministries to resume work with 30% employees. Visitors can access departments based on prior appointments via online registration with a barcode.

Malls and supermarkets will reopen from 8am until 7pm, and those below 15 yrs will not be permitted entry as part of health guidelines.

There is no further discussion for introducing lockdown measures on any new areas while those currently under lockdown will continue. However, there is a high likelihood of lifting lockdown from Farwaniya and Mahboula except for Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. Most of the institutional quarantines will remain under the supervision of the Ministry of Health in light of the global fears of a second wave of the coronavirus epidemic in the coming September or October. The daily reports that there is a possibility for handing over the quarantine areas like Khiran and others within two weeks after the number of inhabitants decreased by 250 people.
