After the number of visitors to the hospitals and health centers have increased during the past few days due to infections with the seasonal influenza, responsible health sources confirmed that the epidemiological situation in the country is reassuring and stable, noting that most patients have mild symptoms of flue and that there is no cause for concern.

The sources also explained that Kuwait is witnessing an increase in the rates of infections with seasonal influenza because of weather fluctuations, the change of seasons, and many people resorting to loosening clothes and operating air-conditioning devices at homes, at work sites, or even inside vehicles, as well as maintaining frequent contact with infected people with respiratory diseases.

The sources pointed out that hundreds of citizens and residents visited health centers and hospitals during the past week due to symptoms that may be like Covid, but initial examinations and smears proved that the Covid epidemic is receding within the country, indicating that most patients have improved in their health conditions with some painkillers and basic medication.

The sources further added that people who have taken seasonal winter vaccinations have less symptoms of influenza, indicating that these vaccines are more necessary for children from 6 months to 5 years of age, the age group over 65 years, pregnant women, workers in health facilities, and those with chronic diseases, reaffirming that Covid is under control, and influenza cases are within the normal rates in the country.
