A source within the Civil Service Commission disclosed that, starting from fiscal 2023/2024, the CSC has initiated the process of dispatching employees from various government agencies who wish to pursue specialization in nursing. This move aligns with the national program’s objective to enhance the performance level of nursing staff members.

The program has been approved by the CSC for 10 years, following extensive studies on the requirements of government institutions and recent labor market demands in the nursing sector.

The source informed Al-Jarida that several government agencies, including the Ministries of Health, Defense, Interior, and Education, among others, have expressed their interest in scholarship seats for nursing specialization within their respective departments.

The agencies have acknowledged the shortage of nursing staff within their health departments and are keen to participate in the program.

The CSC has reached out to the concerned ministries requesting their cooperation in executing the program to address the shortage of nursing personnel.

It is important to note that the dispatch program exclusively targets Kuwaitis and the usual scholarship and study leave conditions will not apply. Eligibility criteria mandate that the applicant must be a Kuwaiti employee with a diploma or secondary qualification.

Through this ambitious initiative, the CSC aims to bolster the nursing workforce in government agencies and address the pressing need for qualified nursing staff, ultimately raising the overall standards of healthcare services in the country.
