The Italian Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E Carlo Balducci, said the negotiations to exempt Kuwaitis from the Schengen visa are proceeding well but need more time to finalize the negotiations between the European Union and Kuwait, and added he is optimistic about the success of negotiations soon expecting the Kuwaitis to be exempted from the Schengen visa requirements next year.
He pointed out that the Italian embassy in Kuwait issues daily between 250 and 300 visas to Italy, and this is a large number for any embassy in Kuwait, while the time for issuing the Italian visa is about 24 hours from the time of submitting the application and added the embassy in Kuwait is the fastest among the Italian embassies operating around the world in issuing visas.
Meanwhile, he added, Kuwaitis love the diversity of cultures, customs and foods in Italy, and added his country plans to make foreign investments in Italy easier.
He also disclosed the number of flights this summer from Kuwait to Milan will be 4 per week, and 4 flights per week to Rome, through international airlines, pointing out that there are currently no plans to operate direct flights from Kuwait to Italy by the Italian airline. Direct flights will be operated within a few weeks via an Italian licensed low-cost airline.
