This brings total number of coronavirus infections in the country to 87,142

Saudi Arabia reported 1,881 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 87,142, the Ministry of Health announced on Monday (June 1).

Meanwhile, the ministry reported 1,864 recoveries today, with total recoveries in the kingdom at 64,306.

The ministry also confirmed 22 deaths, its highest single-day spike in Covid-19 deaths, taking the toll to 525.

Qatar confirms two deaths from coronavirus, total infections 1,523

Qatari Health Ministry confirmed two deaths due to COVID-19 and the total number of fatalities reached 40 on Monday, while the number of infections reached 1,523 patients.

In a statement, the ministry said two of the fatalities were in the intensive care unit, one was 50 years old and the other was 58 of age.

The ministry added the total number of infections reached 58,433 cases, noting that the new infections were among expatriate workers.
