Saudi Arabia reported 1,687 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 31,938, the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday (May 6).
Meanwhile, the ministry reported 1352 recoveries today, with total recoveries in the kingdom at 6,783. There are 137 cases in intensive care.
The ministry also confirmed 9 deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the kingdom to 209.
A health lockdown, imposed last month, was lifted on Wednesday in two districts in Saudi Arabia’s eastern governorate of Al Ahsa, according to the Saudi news agency SPA.
Residents of the two districts are now allowed to move out from 9 in the morning until 5 in the evening to get their needs, the official added.
Qatar announced the detection of 830 new COVID-19 cases
Qatar on Wednesday announced the detection of 830 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total infections in the country to 17, 972.
The country’s death toll stands at 12 as no new fatalities have been reported today, according to the Ministry of Public Health.
Health authorities have conducted more than 100,000 COVID-19 tests so far.
The majority of the newly detected cases are related to expatriate labourers, while the other cases are linked to those who had been in contact with the previously diagnosed cases.
The COVID-19 patients are under quarantine receiving the necessary treatment.
