Saudi Arabia has adopted a new step that allows all residents of the GCC countries to obtain a visit visa for the purpose of tourism through electronic means, which enables individuals to visit various parts of the country and perform Umrah as well.
The residents of the GCC who wish to enter Saudi Arabia, without any specific profession will have an opportunity to enjoy Saudi’s tourist destinations and participate in tourism and entertainment events.
The Saudi Ministry of Tourism stated that all residents of the Gulf countries can now enter the country with an electronic tourist visa, by applying through the “Saudi Spirit” platform, provided that the residency is valid for a period of not less than three months, and the passport is valid for a period of not less than 6 months. This includes the first-degree relatives of the residence visa holder coming with the applicant, and domestic workers coming with their sponsors.
This step comes in the context of the successive decisions issued by the Ministry of Tourism, aiming to provide facilities and reach the strategic goals by increasing the numbers of pilgrims, tourists and business leaders to reach 100 million annual visits by 2030.
