Santhwanam Kuwait, a philanthropic organization steadfast to the desire for human welfare for the past 23 years, had organized a blood donation camp. The blood donation camp was set-up in collaboration with Blood Donors Kerala (Kuwait Chapter) at Adan Hospital Blood Bank on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 08:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. The camp was specially organized to reduce the blood shortage at Kuwait Central Blood Bank during the Holy month of Ramadan at their request and in response to their campaign call.

Indian Embassy First Secretary Shri. Kamal Singh Rathore formally inaugurated the event. In his inaugural speech, Shri. Kamal Singh Rathore has lauded the special efforts of Indian Community for spearheading socio- welfare events such as blood donation camps in Kuwait benefiting the Nationals and expatriates alike. The First Secretary then interacted at length with the people, who had come from different parts of Kuwait to perform blood donation and especially appreciated the humanitarian work done by them during the Holy month of Ramadan. Indian Doctors Forum represented by Dr. Sunny Varghese, Dr. Amir Ahmed, Kuwait Central Blood Bank representative Dr. Ahmed Abdul Ghaffar, Blood Donors Kerala Kuwait Chapter, General Convener Rajan Thottathil, Santhwanam Kuwait President Jyothidas P.N, Secretary Jithin Jose, Program Convener Bivin Thomas along with the representatives of various socio-welfare organizations attended the inaugural event.

Santhwanam Kuwait’s impressive campaign resulted in 80 successful donations. The Donors convened to the blood donation drive from various parts of Kuwait realizing the nobility of the act itself. Conveyance was arranged from different locations in Kuwait. All the blood donors who attended the camp were presented with certificates and refreshments.

Santhwanam Kuwait and BDK volunteers and 12 Kuwait Central Blood Bank staff along with 15 student volunteers worked tirelessly for the successful completion of the drive. The gracious presence of many families along with the children helped to make the blood donation camp into a family friendly event.

The blood donation was made remarkable by the fact that 15 student volunteers participated in the blood donation camp full time. Indian Embassy First Secretary Shri Kamal Singh Rathore has praised the initiative of Santhwanam Kuwait to involve children in philanthropic activities such as blood donation and imparting this great message of “affection for fellow beings” to our young ones. “This has certainly helped exemplify upon our next generation the importance of participation in charity and community welfare activities”,

Santhwanam Kuwait Team presented the Kuwait Central Blood Bank and its staff with a memento in appreciation of their community service. Blood Donors Kerala (Kuwait Chapter) handed a memento to Santhwanam Kuwait for demonstrating a high level of social responsibility in promoting the humanitarian act of voluntary blood donation and for a successful blood donation camp.

The blood donation camp concluded at 12:00 am.
