The Salmi border port inspectors have thwarted an attempt by an unidentified person driving a four-wheeler to smuggle a quantity of rare birds and falcons out of the country.
A local Arabic daily said the birds were hidden in paper cartons.
The birds have been confiscated and the suspect has been referred to the concerned authority for investigation.
