The Ministry of Interior has officially reported that the death toll from road accidents for the first half of 2023, spanning from January to June, has reached a total of 160 fatalities. The General Traffic Department released the weekly statistics, which indicated that a total of 34,174 violations were issued during the first week of July. In addition, 73 juveniles were arrested for driving without a license, while 15 individuals were found to be in violation of the residency law, Al-Anbaa daily reported.

Meanwhile, a total of 93 vehicles and 118 bicycles were sent to the impoundment garage, while authorities successfully apprehended 47 individuals and seized 21 wanted vehicles.

The General Directorate of Traffic recently aired footage from surveillance cameras capturing a series of traffic accidents involving delivery bikes. These incidents highlighted the disregard for traffic regulations, including violations of the law and running red lights.
