With the announcement of the students return to their schools next September and with the beginning of the next academic year, a number of educators emphasized that returning to schools is the real life they all look forward to.

Several educationists told Arabic daily Al Anbaa that they unanimously agreed that the decision may be premature, but an integrated and appropriate plan must be drawn up for the return in coordination with the Ministry of Health.

Among the many demands was the equipping of medical clinics with tools and providing trained and prepared medical staff in all schools. They also stressed the need to spread a culture of health awareness among children and get acquainted to health practices and behaviour that will preserve health security, such as using sanitisers and masks in a correct manner and other things that contribute to enhancing their health and safety.

Kuwaiti Teachers Association secretary, Ayed Al-Subaie said that the most important thing in returning to school is to place the health of children, students, teachers, and school administrations above all considerations, as we are not sure when the pandemic will go and end.  He pointed out that all teachers, school administrations and school personnel must be vaccinated first, and then an approved plan is drawn up between the ministries of health and education and be clear and work on it very early.

Al-Subaie added that there was also a very important matter, which is the school buildings that have been closed for over a year need complete maintenance work, and this required great efforts from the ministry,
