The Ministry of Education (MOE) approved a plan for the safe return to schools at the beginning of the new academic year 2022/2021, which will be following the comprehensive return system associated with the implementation of strict health requirements to ensure the safety of all, Al Jarida daily reported.
This came in the weekly meeting of the Council of Assistant Undersecretaries headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Yacoub, to discuss the latest preparations for the new year and the plan for a gradual and safe return.
The meeting considered several proposals, in addition to a detailed explanation of the return mechanism with the application of health requirements, and precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school administration.
Al-Yacoub told the daily that the ministry had adopted the plan for the year 2022/2021, which includes defining the requirements for return and goals, starting work and coordination with the joint committee, and the quality of education, with an emphasis on the application of full health requirements, to ensure the safety of all.
The plan includes 3 solutions-
The first is a comprehensive return to traditional work if the health conditions are appropriate, and after the approval of the Council of Ministers and the health authorities, and if this is not possible, the second is an adaptation, as the hybrid blended education is applied, and if the health conditions are more difficult, the last solution will be resorted to distance education.

The competent authorities in the ministry developed the three solutions, defined the requirements for each track, and created the appropriate conditions for its application so that the ministry would be ready for all possibilities, especially as we are dealing with a new pandemic that requires daily follow-up.
Al-Yacoub explained that a guide has been prepared for schools for the new year, from which parents, teachers, and students will benefit. Through this guide, the details of return and the working mechanism will be explained to see all the details related to school hours, the academic calendar.
