The head of the Kuwaiti Federation of Restaurants, Cafes and Catering Services, Fahd Al-Arbash, said the number of restaurants in Kuwait was approximately 4,000, excluding their branches, pointing out that if restaurants and cafes that provide other services such as beverages, hookah are counted, their numbers would reach a maximum of 16,000.

In an exclusive statement to Al-Anba he said the occupancy rates in restaurants reached 80 per cent, or what Al-Arbash called ‘Dine-In’, as the country limps back to normalcy after the Covid-19 pandemic, subsequently the request for home delivery services has dropped by about 25 percent.

He explained in light of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic since the beginning of 2020 until recently a large number of these restaurants have either shut doors but with the easing of restrictions a sizeable number of restaurants and cafes have started doing brisk business.
