The government institutions have given the government employees one week to report change in their marital status so as not to fall foul with the law and avoid disciplinary action.

Informed sources told Al-Anba this should be done within the prescribed time limit. This is to tighten control over the disbursement of the social allowances, after the Audit Bureau repeatedly observed non-stop payment of the social allowance to employees even after their social status changed.

The sources indicated the government employees are required to notify death of wife, death of child, marriage status of children and status of grown up children.

Employees who do not inform the change in their social status, will be referred for investigation, liable for disciplinary punishment and will be required to return what is taken unlawfully from the state.
