The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi issued a ministerial decision to reduce the permissible profit margin in the price of selling medicines, pharmaceutical preparations and nutritional supplements traded in the private health sector by 5 percent.

The decision included canceling Ministerial Resolution No. 42 of 2013 regarding determining the permissible profit in the sale price of medicines, pharmaceuticals and nutritional supplements traded in Kuwait, and reducing the permissible profit margin in the selling price by 5 percent compared to the previous profit margin, reports Al-Rai daily.

The decision also indicated that the profit margin for the local agent and the pharmacy includes all administrative expenses, and all that is spent on medicines and imported pharmaceuticals, in exchange for their receipt, clearance, preservation and safety from their arrival at the port until their delivery to the consumer, such as customs fees, release, transportation, storage and insurance expenses, employee wages and so on.
