The Public Prosecution in its appeal to the Court of Cassation has pleaded to uphold the prison sentences for judges and others who are found guilty of bribery, forgery, and money laundering by the lower courts.

Al-Qabas learned from an informed source that the Court of Cassation has set its first session for next July 6 and the court is expected to give its final verdict.

The Court of Appeal had sentenced the defendants to imprisonment and reduced prison terms from 10 years to 7 years for some, and also canceled convictions against some and contented themselves with refraining from punishing them.

The court also put behind bars several against employees (male and female) of the Ministry of Justice, dismissed them from work, imprisoned businessmen and other defendants, and acquitted some.
