The Public Prosecution is looking into 11 corruption reports referred to it by the Public Authority for Anti-Corruption (Nazaha) while seven verdicts have been issued in corruption cases also referred to the Prosecution by the authority, including two convictions from a court of first instance, a conviction judgment from the Court of Appeals and four convictions from a discrimination court.
The statistics, a copy of which has been obtained by a local Arabic daily, shows 56 files and communications are still being looked into by Nazaha, including waste of public money, appropriation and facilitation of the appropriation of public money, profiteering and bribery, illegitimate gain, and conflict interests, abuse of influence, serious financial irregularities, and falsification of official documents.
