The Ministry of Health is mulling a decision to reduce the home quarantine to a period of one week when it was earlier 14 days. This concerned authorities of the ministry are studying the proposal.

Expats arriving to Kuwait from abroad have to undergo home quarantine, and failing to adhere to the rule, will be referred to the judicial authority. A violator shall be imprisoned for three months and a fine of five thousand dinars or one of these two penalties for failing to respect the home quarantine rule as per the law regarding health precautions to prevent the spread of communicable diseases, and its amendments.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) urged everyone coming from abroad to follow the stipulated quarantine in the interest of safety of self and the society and to avoid the penalties in the relevant laws in this regard.

Citizens and residents arriving from all countries are subject to home quarantine except for those coronavirus-infected countries mandated for institutional quarantine. Obligatory home stay is applied for a period of at least 14 days, including refraining from going to work, alongside following up with medical doctors and carrying out all necessary instructions and advice. In the case of any symptoms, contact is to be made with the ministry by calling the dedicated number 151.

Arrivals should also register at the MoH launched website http://hcarea.com and submit information such as symptoms, civil-id number, temperature and people they have been in contact with.

This online service is open to citizens and residents to submit their information, which will be useful to reduce the spread of coronavirus infection and is in line with the Health ministry’s anti-coronavirus plans.
