The Ministry of Interior (MoI) submitted a proposal to collect the fines for traffic violations from violators’ accounts from banks, as part of its efforts to streamline the collection of fines, Al Rai daily reported.

The daily said, quoting informed sources that the Central Bank of Kuwait asked banks to study the proposal, which if approved, the collection would be done by linking the bank’s app with MOI’s automated system.

The sources pointed out that coordination is currently underway with a bank on introducing this experiment of the proposed system into effect, and the Central Bank requested banks to review the MOI’s proposed mechanism for optimum coordination, along with the Finance Ministry. The results and developments of the proposal are to be provided to the required ministries concerning whether the proposed system complies with procedures outlined for the banking system.
