The Embassy of Bangladesh in Kuwait organized a discussion program on 7 March, to mark the anniversary of the speech made on this day in 1971 by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The discussions centered on the importance and significance of that historic speech.
In attendance at the event were embassy officials, officials from the Bangladesh Military Contingent (BMC), and officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines as well as a large number of people from the Bangladesh community in Kuwait.
The program started with the recitation from the Holy Qur’an and an offering of Duah for the Father of the Nation and his family members. Bangladesh Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. S M Abul Kalam along with other officers placed floral tributes before the portrait of the Father of the Nation.
The messages given by the Hon’ble President and Hon’ble Prime Minister were read out by officers of the Embassy. Md Anisuzzaman, Counsellor (Political) and Head of Chancery of the Embassy anchored the whole program.
A large number of community leaders of Kuwait and various socio-cultural organizations took part in the discussion. They highlighted the significance of the 7 March Speech by the Father of the Nation and its inclusion in UNESCO Memory of the World International Register.
Ambassador Kalam summed up the discussion and emphasized that the historic speech will continue to captivate our people and will continue to inspire succeeding generations to attain a happy and prosperous ‘Sonar Bangla’, which was a dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Finally, refreshments were arranged for all the guests.
