An unnamed university professor and his brother have been arrested and are being interrogated for allegedly financing terrorist groups in Syria.
The siblings have been accused of financing elements in Syria that have been classified as terrorist groups by the National Assembly. They are reported to have transferred over half a million dinars in cash collected through donations to these groups in Syria.
The ministry of foreign affairs had earlier requested to freeze the financial accounts of the professor as he was suspected of financing terrorist groups.
