The Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) has decided to ban for 6 months one of the general trading and contracting companies from participation in the Kuwait Oil Company tenders at the request of the latter.

Al-Rai said the ban was slapped after the KOC discovered discrepancies in the installation of a new main manifold for low pressure gas and other associated works in the Shuaiba Industrial Area. The agency’s decision comes in implementation of the provisions of Article 85, Clause 1, Paragraph (C) of Public Tenders Law No. 49 of 2016.

On the other hand, CAPT has agreed to a request of the Kuwait National Petroleum Company to the fourth extension of the maintenance services tender contract for the local marketing department for 6 months, starting from next January 1 until June 30, 2022 for 834 thousand dinars, until the new tender contract is awarded.

The agency has also agreed to the KNPC request for the third extension of the contract for the practice of supplying nitrogen gas through pipelines to the company’s refineries, concluded with the Kuwait Industrial Gases Company, and for the second extension of the contract for the practice of supplying nitrogen gas, concluded with the Refrigeration and Oxygen Company Ltd, for 12 months for each of the two contracts, with effect from December 1, 2021 to December 1 2022 at no additional cost, until the awarding of the two new practices.
