In cooperation with concerned state authorities, the Judicial Enforcement Team of the Ministry of Electricity and Water carried out campaigns to monitor housing violations in the northern governorates, according to a local Arab newspaper.

The deputy head of the team and a member of the bachelors committee, M. Ahmed Al-Shammari, said that there were 58 reported violations in September, and cases were filed in Jahra, Al-Asimah and Farwaniya governorates. The reported violations varied between infringements on the electrical and water networks, explaining that the campaigns were implemented in cooperation with the distribution and consumer affairs sector. In this regard, the service was cut off for non-compliance with the procedures and decisions of the Ministry.

Al-Shammari explained that the campaigns were ceaselessly being carried out on the violating private residences accommodating bachelors, in coordination with the Special Committee. The number of the violating properties that were confronted during the last period totaled to over 50 in Farwaniya alone. The official stressed that they will intensify the inspections in the next two months as reports from the municipality increased and warnings were issued to the violating properties.

He also pointed out that the campaigns were recently concentrated in Farwaniya and Jahra due to the population density. At least 100 properties in these areas experienced the power cuts last month, while the official pointed out the campaign will continue to tackle violations and infringements on the network without complacency and prejudice.
