The Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) carried out maintenance works in secondary transmission stations, which resulted in the disruption of electricity in some areas from 4:00 am to 8:00 am on Wednesday, reports Al-Anba daily
Sources revealed to the Daily that the affected areas include some parts of Naseem, Ayoun, Khaitan, Qusour, Doha, Jabriya, Rawda, Fahaheel, Fahad Al-Ahmad, Messilah, Abu Halifa and Masayel.
This is a regular maintenance procedure in accordance with the timetable of maintenance works for completion during the winter season.
The timing of such maintenance works has been modified in line with the Ministry of Education’s distance learning schedule that starts at 8:00 am.
Sources said MEW sometimes uses diesel generators to ensure the resumption of power before the start of online classes in case the maintenance works take a long time to complete.
