The Committee for Combating the Phenomenon of Singles Housing in the Kuwait Municipality announced that the electricity supply has been cut off from 101 properties in different areas of Kuwait out of the 157 properties that were discovered in cooperation of the Kuwait Municipality, the ministries of Interior, Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Public Works; the Public Environment Authority, and Public Authority for Manpower.

The committee’s Rapporteur, Zaid Al-Enezi, affirmed that “campaigns are continuing to monitor sites infested with the so-called ‘singles’ in private and model housing areas,” pointing to the discovery of several properties that tamper with electrical connections and the current has been cut off, and warnings have been issued in line with the Ministerial Resolution 206 of 2009 regarding the building system and Decree 105 of 1980 regarding the state property system, reports Al-Rai daily.

He pointed out that “the campaigns are under the direct supervision and follow-up of the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, Fahd Al-Shula, and the Director General of the Municipality, Eng. Saud Al-Dabbous, according to a work mechanism and a plan to combat bachelors’ housing.”

Al-Enezi called on citizens to report any violating property via the (Ebaladia) application, WhatsApp, or hotline 139 so that the committee can take legal measures against it.
