The judicial police team of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy launched a surprise inspection campaign on the Failaka Island, in cooperation with the power distribution networks of the Hawalli Governorate, and the public security sector of the Ministry of Interior to ensure power connections and electricity meters are not tampered with.
According to the team leader, Adnan Dashti, the campaign resulted in cutting off the power supply to 10 properties which had exploited the power supply through direct connection from the main lines, reports a local Arabic daily.
Dashti said power supply from 10 properties was cut off and it has already been evaluated by the Ministry of Finance and explained that the team will continue its efforts to ensure the electricity and water networks in all regions of Kuwait are not tampered with and take the necessary measures against those who abuse the ministry’s services.
