Kuwait Municipality is committed to replacing expat employees with Kuwaiti employees and the decision to stop hiring expatriates. But the decision in accordance with the policy of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) needs gradual implementation, Al-Rai daily reported quoting sources.
Sources pointed out Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Dr. Rana Al-Faris is expected to submit a request for the termination of expatriate employees and consultants in Kuwait Municipality as per the policy implemented by the Ministry of Public Works.
However, some departments in the Municipality are unattractive for Kuwaitis, especially those related to correspondence, data entry and other positions that need expatriate workers, sources added.
