The Cabinet has agreed to transfer the ministerial supervision of the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development from the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of Oil Dr. Muhammad Al-Faris to the Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Abdul Wahhab Al-Rasheed.

Sources told a local Arabic daily that the transfer of supervision of the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning to the Minister of Finance comes in his capacity as Minister of Economic Affairs and Investment, as the activity of the “Planning Secretariat” falls under the umbrella of economic affairs as it specializes in following up all state development projects and the mechanism of their implementation and monitoring the obstacles they encounter, as well as monitoring Disbursement of funds on development projects and matching the project’s financial allocations with disbursement permissions to measure the percentage of their completion.

The sources stated that the Council of Ministers is continuing the process of transferring and aligning a number of government agencies and agencies, in line with their activities and the work of the competent minister.
