The Director of Hygiene and Road Works Department in the Jahra Municipality Branch, Fahad Al-Qarifa, announced an integrated plan has been developed to pursue street vendors during the holy month of Ramadan and that the inspectors will be deployed in two shifts — morning and evening — in front of public markets, malls, and also along main streets.

Al-Qarifa told a local Arabic daily that the Municipality is taking all legal procedures including the seizure of the vehicle, if any, confiscates assets, destroys foodstuffs, seizes other materials, in addition to issuing a citation against the vendor and is some cases expatriates may even be deported.

A reliable source said in case of bedoun, they will be referred to the Ministry of Interior to deal with them, especially since a majority of those arrested from this category do not have a civil card or identity.
